Friday saw only one game in the Premier League in which Arsenal regained their form to move into the top 10 of the table. Aston Villa picked up their third straight league loss.

Arsenal vs Aston Villa:

Arsenal produced a phenomenal performance, defeating Aston Villa 3-1.

Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang and Bukayo Saka both had excellent opportunities to score early for Arsenal.

Saka put a cross into the box which Aubameyang attempted an overhead kick for. The miss wound up at Saka’s feet to where he shot his left-footed attempt over the net.

It was all Arsenal early as Saka would produce a dangerous cross. This time Thomas Partey’s shot hit the crossbar.

Partey scored this time with his head in the 23rd minute from a corner to make it 1-0.

Saka had a glorious chance to make it 2-0, but he failed to convert a pass across the box from Nuno Tavares. Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez made a great save on the play to keep it 1-0.

A debatable decision came at the end of the second half when the Video Assistant Referee reviewed a tackle made by Matthew Targett on Alexandre Lacazette. The referee gave a penalty that Aubameyang missed, but he scored off the follow-up from Martinez’s save making the score 2-0.

Aston Villa started the second half brightly, although Arsenal would score again in the 55th minute. Emile Smith-Rowe scored a deflected shot off Tyrone Mings to make it 3-0 Arsenal.

Aston Villa would not fold, forcing several saves from the Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.

Jacob Ramsey hit a shot that Ramsdale could not save. The ball flew past him to decrease Arsenal’s lead to 3-1.

It was all Aston Villa in the final minutes, but they could not decrease Arsenal’s lead anymore.

Premier League games are broadcast on NBCUniversal networks and its Peacock streaming service.
