UFC 246 Conor McGregor Vs Donald Cerrone Preview

The UFC is off to a hot start, with fighters like McGregor, Cerrone, Holm, and Pettis, all set to go to war in the octagon on January 18th. T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas opened in 2016, and has already been home to some of the most anticipated fights in history, Alvarez Vs Golovkin, Mayweather Vs McGregor. UFC 246 is just going to add to the list.

McGregor Vs Cerrone

Conor attempts to put the past behind him as he takes on one of the best fighters to ever step into the octagon. Donald Cerrone has his name all over the UFC record book. Most wins in UFC history, Most finishes in UFC history, and most knockdowns in UFC history. Cerrone is meeting Conor twenty at 170 pounds for this fight.

McGregor, on the other hand, is known for proving people wrong. When people doubt him most, you see a fire in his eyes, and he performs at his best. In his loss against Nate Diaz, he talked about the number of people celebrating his demise, and he came back stronger, to take the second fight. Conor was at his peak and has had one of the biggest downfalls any athlete has ever had. His head coach John Kavanagh said that Conor looks like he is in the best shape he has ever been in. The UFC world is in for one of the best fights of the year, and a great way to start off the decade.

Holly Holm Vs Raquel Pennington

Holly and Raquel have wanted to get back into the octagon for a while. Holly, a UFC Veteran, was set out to make her UFC debut against Raquel but was forced to pull out due to injury. The Two fighters faced each other for the first time at UFC 184, the fight went the distance, and Holly Holm won the decision.

Raquel is coming off of a win against, Irene Aldana. It will be a tough matchup for Raquel due to being, shorter, and has a reach that is 2 inches shorter.

Aleksei Oleinik Vs Maurice Greene

Aleksei Oleinik, A grizzled veteran, A heavyweight fighter with a tremendous ground game, and heavy hands, faces off against 6'6, 258 pounds, Maurice Greene. Aleksei is 9 years younger, shorter, lighter, and has a shorter reach. Aleksei is looking to take the fight to the ground, considering that 2 of his last 5 fights have ended in submission.

Maurice is looking to make a name for himself in the UFC, and a win against Aleksei would seal the deal. Maurice is a heavy hitter and a stand-up fighter, looking to keep the fight standing up. It is going to be interesting seeing how the two fighters change the pace of the fight.

Claudia Gadelha Vs Alexa Grasso

Claudia is coming off 2 wins, both coming in a decision. The tale of the tape gives Alexa a 3-inch reach advantage, but everything else is....virtually identical. Alexa Grasso is looking to complete the upset with a win over Claudia. Both Fighters have a similar fighting record, and it will be a very tight, very close matchup between the two.

Anthony Pettis Vs Carlos Diego Ferreira

Carlos, in the middle of his 5-fight win streak, is facing off against Anthony "Showtime" Pettis. Pettis is coming off of a loss against Nate Diaz, back in August, and is looking to put the loss in the past, and start fresh against Ferreira. Both Fighters are strong both on the ground and standing up. The fight will certainly be very close, considering that Ferreira is currently on fire, Pettis is looking to avenge his defeat and get going once again.
